The Rapid City Children’s Chorus from Rapid City, SD will be featured with singer/songwriter Rosanne Cash, the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, and thousands of other choristers on four continents on the new seasonal anthem of hope, How Many Christmases. Conducted by YPC founder/artistic director Francisco J. Núñez, The Rapid City Children’s Chorus will be joined on the recording by choirs from the United States, Canada, and countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa.
How Many Christmases, composed by Jim Papoulis with lyrics by Mike Greenly, represents the world’s children coming together as one to express their dream of a world where ”peace on earth is truly real and not just words we’ve sung.” It is the highlight of CoolSide of Yuletide, a CD of new and energized arrangements of such holiday perennials as Deck the Halls, Little Drummer Boy, Joy to the World, Silent Night, Oh Christmas Tree, Let it Snow, and more, which will be released on Vital Records on November 25. These newly arranged holiday favorites incorporating unexpected rhythmic backgrounds and a little holiday spice were developed and re-harmonized by Mr. Papoulis and Mr. Núñez. Both How Many Christmases and the CoolSide of Yuletide album will be available soon. Check back for more details.
